Okay, so there are literally only 10 rooftop pools that I know of(excluding private hostels) in Malaga, and this is how I would rate them!
Okay, so there are literally only 10 rooftop pools that I know of(excluding private hostels) in Malaga, all of which I have written about!
So, for about 30 minutes, I stared at my articles, ordering and reordering pools, until I was somewhat satisfied. I love every one of these spots, so rating them wasn't easy.
My list is based on the views, the cocktails, the sunbeds, the service, and of course, the pools. Only one of these rooftop pools includes a day pass, so this list is mainly for anyone looking into hotels with rooftop pools.
But I will be honest; I still love sitting at the edge of an infinity pool and sipping a cocktail, even if I can't swim in it!
I hope you enjoy my list.
The Best Rooftop Pools in Malaga
Lolita Skyview

The rooftop pool at Only YOU is all about location. Sitting at the edge of the terrace, it looks straight out over Málaga's cathedral and down to the port, with the sea stretching beyond. It's not a big pool, but the infinity edge makes it feel more open, and it's perfect for cooling off between sightseeing.
Seating is simple but comfortable, with cushioned loungers and a few shaded spots.
The Lolita Skyview bar sits just behind the pool, so drinks are easy to order. Expect well-made cocktails and a decent wine list, more about quality than variety. Food isn't served poolside, but the hotel's restaurant downstairs covers that if you want a full meal before or after.
Sunrise at Gibralfaro Castle
Watch the sun rise over Malaga from the highest point in the city. The views stretch from the bullring to the port and beyond.
“The castle opens at 9am, but staying at the Parador gives you access to the terrace at dawn - before anyone else arrives.”
Parador de Malaga Gibralfaro - The only hotel with direct castle access. Wake up and walk straight onto the terrace for sunrise.
Check AvailabilityThe B-Heaven at Barcelo(the only day-pass)

Nestled atop Barceló Málaga, B-Heaven rooftop pool in Málaga is the only pool that offers a day pass, which makes it a go-to if you're not staying in a hotel but still want the rooftop experience. The pool itself is compact but well-kept, more for dipping and cooling off than swimming.
From the terrace, you get broad views across Málaga's skyline, with the mountains in the background and the city stretching out below.
The B-Heaven rooftop bar is a highlight, serving cocktails, wines, and light snacks. Food options are limited poolside, but it's enough to keep you going if you're planning to spend the afternoon here.
La Terraza Molina Lario

The rooftop pool at Hotel Molina Lario is right in the middle of the action, but it feels surprisingly calm once you're up there. The pool is modest in size, best for cooling off rather than swimming, but the location more than makes up for it.
You get one of the closest rooftop views of Málaga's cathedral, with the stone towers rising just a few steps away and the harbour and sea visible in the distance. Loungers are set along the pool's edge, with a few umbrellas offering shade when the sun is strongest.
The rooftop bar, La Terraza Molina Lario, gives the space more energy in the evenings, serving cocktails, wine, and light bites.
The AC Hotel Malaga Palacio Rooftop

The rooftop pool at AC Hotel Málaga Palacio is small, but it's on one of the most impressive terraces in the city. You're 15 floors up, with wide-open views that stretch from the cathedral domes to the harbour and the sea beyond. It's less about swimming and more about soaking up the setting.
Loungers line the pool with enough space to feel private, and shaded spots are available for when the midday sun gets too strong. The overall atmosphere is calm, a mix of hotel guests cooling off after sightseeing or settling in with a drink.
The rooftop bar and restaurant, Àtico, sit right next to the pool and make a big difference here. You can order drinks without leaving your lounger or grab a table for a proper meal with the same panoramic backdrop. It's a polished setup that makes this rooftop one of Málaga's signature spots.
The H10 Croma

The rooftop pool at H10 Croma is more of a plunge pool than a swimming spot, but it's perfect for cooling off between hours in the sun. It's a modern space that matches the hotel's design, with clean lines and a bright, open feel.
From the terrace of the H10 Croma rooftop pool, you get wide views over Málaga's old town and out toward the hills, a mix of rooftops and skyline that feels both central and relaxed. The pool isn't large, but it's paired with plenty of loungers and shaded tables, so it works well for spending an afternoon.
The rooftop bar here serves cocktails, wine, and light bites, making it easy to settle in without needing to leave.
The Parador de Malaga Gibralfaro

The Parador de Gibralfaro's rooftop pool is all about the view. Set high above the city, it looks out across Málaga's historic centre on one side and the Mediterranean on the other. Trees and gardens surround you, so it feels more like a hillside retreat than a city hotel.
The pool at the parador de Gibralfaro itself is modest in size but well kept, good for a refreshing swim rather than long laps. Loungers are spread around the terrace with plenty of space, and shaded spots are easy to find. The atmosphere stays quiet, thanks to its guest-only access and location away from the city buzz.
There's a restaurant and bar on site, so you can grab a drink or a meal without leaving the view. Traditional Andalusian dishes are a highlight here, and sitting down for lunch or dinner after a swim is part of the appeal.
The Aurea

The rooftop pool at Áurea is a calm spot above the city, sitting on the Hotel Salles' sixth floor with clear views of Málaga's skyline. From the terrace, you can see the cathedral spires and Gibralfaro Castle in the distance, which makes it a good place to take a break from the streets below.
The pool is small and simple, mainly for cooling off rather than swimming. Around, you'll find cushioned loungers and a few shaded areas that keep the setup comfortable. The atmosphere is quiet and guest-only, so it never feels crowded.
The rooftop bar adds to the appeal, serving drinks and light snacks throughout the day. It's not a party rooftop, but more of a relaxed spot to unwind with a glass of wine while the city shifts below you.
La Terraza de Valeria

The rooftop pool at Room Mate Valeria hotel is one of the more private spots in the city, with a grown-up feel thanks to its 14+ age policy. It's not a big pool, but it's well designed, and the atmosphere is more about relaxing than swimming. Balinese beds and cushioned loungers line the terrace, with calm music in the background and a steady breeze from the harbour.
Views stretch out across the Mediterranean and the port, with Málaga's rooftops filling in the backdrop. It's a mix that feels both central and coastal, and it's easy to spend hours here without leaving.
The La Terraza de Valeria bar sits alongside the pool and is one of the hotel's highlights, serving cocktails, wine, and light food. It's a good option if you want to settle in for the evening after a day of sightseeing.
SOHO Boutique Equitativa

The rooftop pool at Soho Boutique Equitativa is small and understated, but that's part of its appeal. Tucked above the city, it feels more private than some of Málaga's bigger hotel rooftops, with a quieter atmosphere that suits anyone looking for a calm swim rather than a scene.
From the terrace, you get clear views of the cathedral dome and the old town rooftops stretching out toward the horizon. It's a central spot, but the setup, cushioned loungers, and a few shaded corners keep it relaxed and comfortable.
The rooftop bar is just a few steps away, serving cocktails, beer, and simple snacks. It's not the liveliest rooftop in Málaga, but it works well if you want a laid-back swim and a drink with a view.

La Terraza Solecio

The rooftop pool at Palacio Solecio hotel is a quiet hideaway above Málaga's old town. It's reserved for hotel guests, which keeps it peaceful, and the design leans toward classic and refined. The pool at the Palacio Solecio isn't large, but it's well-kept and makes a good spot to cool off after a day in the city.
The views look straight over the terracotta rooftops with the cathedral rising in the centre. Blue-tiled walls frame the pool area, giving it a distinctive Andalusian touch. Seating is comfortable but straightforward, with loungers and a few shaded corners for when the sun is high.
The La Terraza Solecio bar is nearby, serving cocktails and wine with the same old town views. There's no full restaurant on the rooftop, but it's a stylish place to pause before heading back down into the city.
Conclusion
It's not called the Costa del Sol for nothing. Malaga gets hot, and lounging with a cocktail in hand while soaking in the city is definitely a vibe!
