Stag do accommodation in Malaga that won't reject your group booking. 13 hotels, hostels, and villas tested by locals. Book with confidence.
Finding stag do accommodation in Malaga is harder than it should be. Most hotels reject group bookings outright. The ones that don't will quietly cancel you once they figure it out. Airbnb hosts stop responding the moment you mention it's a stag.
I've spent three years helping groups find places that actually work. The sweet spots are Soho for nightlife on your doorstep, Centro for walkability, and Benalmadena if you want a villa with a pool.
Some properties genuinely welcome groups, and they're not all dumps. Here are 13 that won't evict you at 2am.
Why Booking a Stag in 2026 Is Hard
Hotels have "no group booking" flags in their systems. The moment you book four or more rooms you get flagged for manual review, and often rejected. Airbnb hosts have been burned before, and one noise complaint tanks their listing. Boutique hotels in the Old Town sit among residential buildings where neighbours complain straight to the council, and tourist apartments increasingly carry "no stag/hen" clauses in their licences.
There are good options though. You don't have to choose between somewhere decent and somewhere that actually lets you in.

What's the Best Area to Stay for a Stag Do in Malaga?
Soho is the top pick for most stag groups. It's Malaga's nightlife district, packed with bars and restaurants, and the neighbourhood is used to noise. Hotels here won't flinch at a group check-in.
Centro Historico works if you want to be close to the cathedral, tapas bars, and Plaza de la Merced. The trade-off is residential neighbours who'll call the council if your group gets loud after midnight.
Benalmadena is the villa option. It's 20 minutes down the coast by train, has its own marina nightlife scene, and you'll get a pool, garden, and space for pre-drinks at villa prices. The downside: you're not walking to Malaga's Old Town bars.
Skip Malagueta and El Palo. Both are residential beach neighbourhoods where a group of lads stands out, and the bar options are limited.
The Budget Options
Pod-style accommodation in the centre. Groups are their business model, so they're not going to be weird about it.
- Pod-style rooms with privacy
- Central location, walkable to everything
- Professional management
The slightly more upmarket sibling. Private rooms available, same professional approach to groups.
- Private rooms available
- Central location
- Modern interiors
Private rooms available, Soho location, and they're set up for group travel. Near the port and the bar scene.
- Private rooms for groups
- Soho location near bars and restaurants
How Far in Advance Should You Book Stag Accommodation?
For summer (June to August), book 6 to 8 weeks ahead. That's not being cautious, it's necessary. Group-friendly properties fill fast because there aren't many of them.
Easter week (Semana Santa) is the other crunch period. Book 2 months out minimum.
Off-season (October to April) is more relaxed. You can get away with 2 to 3 weeks' notice, and you'll pay less across the board. Villas in Benalmadena drop significantly outside summer.
One thing that catches people out: most of these hotels need you to call or email for group rates. The website booking system flags 4+ rooms and blocks you automatically. Ring reception, explain it's a group celebrating a special occasion, and you'll get a different answer than the website gives you.
The Villa Option

If you want a villa with a pool, these are outside the Old Town so there are fewer restrictions. Just respect the neighbours and keep the noise inside. Get it right and you've got space, privacy, a pool, and somewhere to do pre-drinks without bar prices.

Best for: Larger groups who need maximum bedrooms.
Before you book any villa, check recent reviews from group guests, video call the property if you're booking direct, and confirm the pool is heated if that matters. Steer clear of random listings with no recent reviews, or prices that look too good to be true.
Booking Tips
Do's
- Book directly where possible, not through third-party sites
- Be honest about your group size and describe it as "mates celebrating a special occasion"
- Pay deposits promptly to show you're serious
- Ask about their group policy before booking
- Book well in advance (6-8 weeks for summer)
Don'ts
- Don't book as "2 people" and show up with 8
- Don't use multiple names to disguise it's one group
- Don't book a residential Old Town Airbnb and hope for the best, that's complaints and eviction waiting to happen
- Don't book anywhere with "peaceful" or "quiet" in the description, that's code for "no groups"
- Don't trust "party apartments" marketed as such, they're often unlicensed and shut down mid-booking
If they're going to reject you, better to know before you've paid.
Getting There
Málaga airport is 15 minutes from the centre. The C1 Cercanías train runs to María Zambrano station and Málaga Centro-Alameda in about 12 minutes for a couple of euros, then it's a short walk or taxi to most of the hotels here. A taxi straight from the airport to the Old Town is around €20–€25 for the car, which splits well across a group with luggage.
Staying in a villa down in Benalmádena or Fuengirola? The same C1 train runs from the airport along the coast in 25–35 minutes, so you don't need a hire car unless you want one.
