What you won't find here is one type of rooftop. One is a hillside restaurant, one sits on a shopping centre, two come with pools. Each suits a different night out.

Does Fuengirola Have a Sky Bar?

Yes, and there are two that are easy to mix up. Sky Bar at Hotel El Puerto sits on Torre Sancho on the Paseo Marítimo, with a rooftop pool you can swim in between drinks.

Sky Bar Veramar, now trading as ByCosmos Sky Bar (also written Cosmos Sky Bar), is the higher of the two, ten floors up on Hotel Veramar with a near 360-degree view.

A third venue, 36-5 at Hotel Ángela, is sometimes searched as "365 sky bar" but runs as a rooftop cocktail terrace rather than a pool bar.

Where Are Fuengirola's Rooftop Bars Located?

They're spread across town rather than clustered in one spot. Sky Bar at Hotel El Puerto sits right on the Paseo Marítimo seafront, and Sky Bar Veramar is a few streets back on Calle Málaga, both central and close to the beach.

On top of Torre Sancho at Hotel El Puerto on Paseo Marítimo, Sky Bar combines poolside convenience with rooftop Mediterranean views.

The unique selling point here is the combination of pool and rooftop, if you're a guest.

They specialize in real fruit cocktails, no artificial anything, which is a big plus in my book.

3. Restaurante El Higuerón

In the Sierra de Mijas foothills just off the A-7, Restaurante El Higuerón proves you don't need a building to get the view.

This isn't a true rooftop. It's a hillside restaurant with a big terrace, and the panoramic Mediterranean and Costa del Sol vistas rival most rooftops I've sat on.

The kitchen leans northern Spanish with a strong Asturian streak. Expect fabada, charcoal-grilled meats and fresh seafood, much of the produce trucked down from Asturias.

The terrace catches those famous Costa del Sol sunsets, and the new cocktail bar finally gives you a reason to arrive before dinner. Over 100 free parking spaces and a lift from the car park solve the access problem that plagues urban rooftops.

5. Sky Bar Veramar

On Calle Málaga atop Hotel Veramar, Sky Bar Veramar, now run as ByCosmos Sky Bar, is the highest of the five, ten floors up with a near 360-degree view.

This is an easy sundowner spot rather than a polished cocktail bar. The draw is the height and the summer salsa and bachata nights.

The central Fuengirola location puts you steps from the beach, and there's no dress code to think about.

When Are Fuengirola's Rooftop Bars Open?

Most run seasonally, so timing matters. 36-5º at Hotel Ángela opens mid-March to late October, evenings Thursday to Sunday. Sky Bar Veramar (ByCosmos) runs mid-April to the end of October, also evenings.

Terraza Chill Out Bar and Restaurante El Higuerón stay open year-round, and El Higuerón serves non-stop from breakfast through dinner.
