Parasols and lounge seating overlooking the city at H10 Croma, Malaga

Panoramic city views, Mediterranean-inspired cocktails, and a chic yet relaxed rooftop vibe.

H10 Croma Rooftop Bar sits on the 9th floor of the H10 Croma Malaga hotel on Calle Prim. The 360-degree views stretch from the cathedral spire and old town to the mountains.

I came up here on a warm evening expecting another hotel terrace and stayed for two rounds. The terraza is bigger than it looks from the street, and it catches the sunset full-on.

Here's the part people get wrong: the bar is open to everyone, not just hotel guests. The plunge pool and sun loungers, though, are for guests only.

This review covers the vibe, the cocktail and tapas prices, where to sit for sunset, how booking works, and whether it's worth your evening. If you're weighing it against other terraces, see my guide to the best rooftop bars in Málaga.

The Vibe

The design hits you first. Green-tiled bar, mosaic floor, fringed parasols, and a Mediterranean look that feels considered rather than corporate. The hotel only opened in August 2022, so everything up here still looks fresh.

I'll be honest about the crowd. It's a mix of hotel guests, locals meeting for drinks, and visitors who found the place online. By day it's relaxed and sun-drenched. After dark the lights come up across the city and the energy lifts, but it stays a spot for conversation, not a club.

The terrace is genuinely big for a city rooftop. I moved from a high table to a low sofa without anyone minding. Service was quick both times, which isn't a given on Costa del Sol rooftops in July. Come on a Friday or Saturday and the seats near the edge go first, so arrive before sunset if the view is the point.

Opening Hours

  • Monday - Thursday: 11:00 - 00:00
  • Friday - Saturday: 11:00 - 01:00
  • Sunday: 11:00 - 00:00

Arriving around 18:00-19:00 puts you in prime position for sunset. The bar tends to be busiest on Friday and Saturday evenings, so arriving early on those nights ensures you get a good seat.

Yes, there's a proper menu. The H10 Croma rooftop menu runs Mediterranean tapas and bites alongside cocktails, sangria, and wines by the glass. You order at your table, not the bar.

Drinks:

  • Signature cocktails: 9-12 euros
  • Classic cocktails: 8-11 euros
  • Sangria (jug): 18-22 euros
  • Wines by the glass: 4-8 euros
  • Premium spirits: 7-12 euros
  • Beer and soft drinks: 3-5 euros

Food:

  • Tapas and Mediterranean bites: 6-14 euros
  • Sharing platters: 12-18 euros
  • Light snacks: 4-8 euros

I had a signature cocktail and a sharing platter for around 25 euros, which is fair for a view like this. The list mixes classics with local-flavour creations, and the tapas are built for sharing. It's not a full dinner spot, so treat it as drinks with good food rather than a restaurant.

The View & Seating

From the 9th floor at H10 Croma, the view wraps a full 360 degrees. You get Malaga's rooftops, the cathedral spire, the mountains behind, and a sliver of sea to the south. At sunset the mountains turn the sky pink and the whole terrace shifts to face west.

If the cathedral is what you're after, it's also framed well from other terraces in my guide to cathedral-view rooftops.

Seating options include:

  • Stylish lounge areas with comfortable sofas and low tables
  • High tables along the terrace edge for unobstructed panoramas
  • Bar seating for those who want to watch the cocktails being made
  • Quieter corners for more intimate conversations

The best sunset spots are the western-facing high tables along the edge. I grabbed one 40 minutes early on a Saturday and it was already the last free one. For golden hour in summer, aim for a seat by 19:30.

How to Make a Reservation

For the bar terrace: You can't book a table for drinks. It's walk-in only, so just take the lift to the 9th floor and find a spot. On Friday and Saturday around sunset, get there early or you'll be standing.

For dining: If you plan to eat near sunset, booking is worth it. Reserve through the hotel directly or the H10 app. For a terrace where reserving is more reliable, I'd point you to La Terraza Molina Lario instead.

Sunrise at Gibralfaro Castle

Watch the sun rise over Malaga from the highest point in the city. The views stretch from the bullring to the port and beyond.

The castle opens at 9am, but staying at the Parador gives you access to the terrace at dawn - before anyone else arrives.

Where to Stay

Parador de Malaga Gibralfaro - The only hotel with direct castle access. Wake up and walk straight onto the terrace for sunrise.

Dress Code

H10 Croma keeps a smart casual standard. Nobody turned a head at my linen shirt and sandals, but the evening crowd dresses up a notch.

What works:

  • Smart casual attire for evening visits
  • Sundresses, linen shirts, and nice sandals
  • Clean, well-put-together casual outfits
  • Relaxed daytime wear during afternoon hours

What does not work:

  • Beachwear or swimsuits (pool is separate and for guests only)
  • Very casual sportswear or flip-flops
  • Overly dressed-down attire in the evening

The dress code is more relaxed during daytime hours but expect a smarter crowd as evening approaches.

Access & Getting There

Finding the entrance: Go in through the main entrance of H10 Croma Malaga at Calle Prim, 4, just off the historic centre. Take the lift to the 9th floor and the signage points you straight to the terrace. Staff will help if you look lost.

Parking: The hotel has no car park of its own. Parking Camas and other public car parks in the centre are your nearest bet. Street parking nearby is limited and metered.

Public transport: It's about a 15-minute walk from Maria Zambrano station. Several bus lines stop on the Alameda Principal a few minutes away.

Our Verdict

H10 Croma gets the basics right. The 9th-floor views are real, the cocktails and tapas are good, and the space is bigger than most city rooftops. It doesn't have the boutique intimacy of a smaller terrace, but the easy access and fair prices make it a safe choice on most evenings.

Best for: Sunset drinks with a view, relaxed catch-ups, and anyone wanting a polished rooftop without the pretension or hotel-guest restrictions.

Skip if: You want an intimate hidden corner or the cheapest drinks in town.

This is a settle-in-for-a-few-hours kind of place. Order another round and let the view carry the evening. It's an easy yes when you don't want to plan ahead.

Staying the night? The H10 Croma rooftop pool rounds out the experience, though it's open to hotel guests only.
