Nusa Cocktail Bar in Malaga

Chic Cocktail Bar. A tropical haven with harbour views and exotic drinks.

Nusa Cocktail Bar perches one level above the marina at Muelle Uno, bringing breezy, boho charm to Málaga's portside scene.

It's a tropical haven with harbour views, handcrafted cocktails, and the kind of laid-back luxe that keeps people coming back.

The bar is open to everyone, no reservations required.

Just show up, grab a seat, and let the sea breeze and frozen cocktails work their magic.

This is the kind of place you stumble into once and then find yourself recommending to everyone who visits.

Best For

  • Couples looking for a relaxed, boho-chic setting with sea views and sunset vibes
  • Groups of friends wanting spacious seating, shareable cocktails, and a laid-back atmosphere
  • Casual visitors to Muelle Uno who want a stylish spot to take a break from shopping or strolling
  • Golden hour lovers chasing that perfect mix of light, music, and harbour scenery
  • Instagrammers and design fans drawn to pod seating, macramé umbrellas, and coastal decor

Not Ideal For

  • Travellers expecting high-rise views
  • Anyone needing on-site food options
  • Families with restless young kids - the vibe leans more adult and mellow

The Vibe

Nusa brings relaxed island energy to the heart of Málaga's port. Pod-shaped seating nooks invite you to sink in and stay awhile, while macramé umbrellas cast dappled shade across sun-kissed tables. The aesthetic is coastal bohemian with an upscale twist.

The view isn't towering like some hotel rooftops, but it's all you need: yachts gliding past, palms swaying, and the Mediterranean shimmering just beyond. There's something hypnotic about watching boats come and go while nursing a colourful cocktail.

The crowd is mixed. Daytime brings families and couples seeking shade and refreshments. As evening sets in, the atmosphere shifts to something more romantic and mellow, with friends gathering around low tables and couples tucked into intimate corners.

Opening Hours

  • Friday - Saturday: 12:00 - 01:00
  • Sunday: 12:00 - 00:00

Weekday hours may vary, so it's worth checking their website for current times.

Menu & Prices

Drinks: This is a cocktail bar first and foremost, and the drinks are the star of the show. Check out their cocktail menu for the full range of handcrafted options. Signature cocktails run from 10-14 euros, with frozen varieties and tropical creations that are as photogenic as they are delicious. The blue frozen cocktails are a house favourite.

Food: Nusa doesn't serve food, but there are plenty of other spots around the harbour to grab a bite before or after your visit. The bar focuses entirely on what it does best: cocktails with a view.

The View & Seating

The harbour view is the main attraction here. You're looking out over Muelle Uno's marina, with yachts bobbing in the foreground and the Mediterranean stretching to the horizon. Palms frame the scene perfectly.

Seating options include:

  • Spacious loungers and cushioned sofas for groups of three to four
  • Signature pod-shaped seating for intimate conversations and date nights
  • Classic setups with two single chairs and small tables facing each other
  • Tall round tables with high stools for a more casual perch

No matter where you sit, the open-air design ensures you're never far from a view of the harbour, swaying palms, and the sea breeze. The space is thoughtfully varied to suit every kind of gathering.

A word of warning: It can get very hot during the day. Bring a hat, a Spanish fan, and plenty of sunscreen if you're planning a daytime visit.

How to Make a Reservation

No reservations are accepted. Nusa operates on a walk-in only basis. It's best to arrive early if you're hoping for sunset or weekend seating, as the terrace fills up quickly during peak hours.

Sunrise at Gibralfaro Castle

Watch the sun rise over Malaga from the highest point in the city. The views stretch from the bullring to the port and beyond.

The castle opens at 9am, but staying at the Parador gives you access to the terrace at dawn - before anyone else arrives.

Where to Stay

Parador de Malaga Gibralfaro - The only hotel with direct castle access. Wake up and walk straight onto the terrace for sunrise.

Dress Code

What works:

  • Casual beachwear during the day
  • Light layers and summer dresses
  • Relaxed but stylish attire in the evening
  • Swimwear covered up outside of daytime lounging

What doesn't work:

  • Uncovered swimwear at the bar
  • Overly formal attire (you'll be overdressed)

The vibe is family-friendly during the day but leans more adult and mellow in the evening. Dress for comfort with the sea breeze in mind.

Access & Getting There

How to find it: Nusa is located on the rooftop above the Muelle Uno parking area. Access is available via stairs or elevator from the car park. Once you're in Muelle Uno, look for the signage directing you to the rooftop level.

Location: Muelle Uno is Málaga's waterfront promenade, just east of the port and a short walk from the city center. The area is pedestrian-friendly with shops, restaurants, and the Centre Pompidou nearby.

Parking: The Muelle Uno car park is directly below the bar, making it one of the most convenient rooftops to access by car. Alternatively, it's an easy walk from the city center or Malagueta beach.

Public transport: Buses run along Paseo del Parque, stopping a short walk from Muelle Uno. The Cercanías train stops at Centro Alameda, about a 10-minute walk away.

Our Verdict

Would we go back? Already have, and probably will again the next time we're craving sea views and a blue frozen cocktail (seriously, what's in that thing?). Nusa is the kind of place you stumble into once and then find yourself recommending to everyone who visits.

Best for: Date nights with harbour views, friends seeking colourful cocktails, anyone wanting a tropical escape without leaving the city.

Skip if: You're looking for a food-focused experience or prefer historic old town views over modern marina scenery.

It's not the highest rooftop in Málaga, but sometimes the best views are the ones right at eye level with the sea.
