What it does well is golden hour. The sun drops behind the rooftops and the whole terrace turns warm, then the town lights flicker on below. I find the left-hand seats catch the best of it.

The layout splits into a few lounge zones, so couples and bigger groups both fit without crowding each other. Décor was redone when the bar reopened, and the evening lighting is clearly the priority. Come for sunset and stay into the dark for the best of both.

Buddha Bar pours the best cocktails on any rooftop in Nerja, and the old-town terrace at sunset is a genuinely lovely place to spend an evening. I keep coming back for the drinks alone.

I won't pretend it's flawless. Service wobbles when the terrace is packed, the views are old-town rooftops rather than open sea, and prices sit at the upper end for Nerja. Time your visit for early evening and none of that gets in the way.
