Cocktails and west-facing sea views at Los Jazmines Lounge, the rooftop bar atop Hotel Los Jazmines in Torremolinos. Casual, walk-in, open to all.

Los Jazmines Lounge crowns the palm-lined Hotel Los Jazmines above the Bajondillo seafront, its terrace turned west toward the sunset coast.

I climbed up on a warm Thursday for one sundowner and stayed past dark. The draw is simple: a cold drink, an open sky, and the sea a block away.

Don't come expecting a slick cocktail temple. The "lounge" name oversells it, and that's fine. This is a friendly, beach-casual roof with classic drinks at honest prices.

Below I cover the vibe, the short drinks list, the view and seating, whether you need to book, the dress code, and how to find the lift up.

Best For

  • Beachgoers wanting a sundowner close to the coast
  • Families or couples looking for an easygoing drink with a view
  • Travellers staying in Playamar or Bajondillo

Not Ideal For

  • Guests expecting full dinner service
  • Those looking for upscale mixology or party vibes
  • Remote workers (no visible outlets or indoor seating)

Is Los Jazmines Lounge Open to the Public?

Yes. The lounge welcomes both hotel guests and outside visitors, so you don't need a room to ride the lift up. Walk through the Hotel Los Jazmines lobby on Calle México and take the elevator to the top floor.

Tables are first-come, so there's no guest list and no door policy. I've turned up as a non-guest twice and nobody blinked.

The roof sits above the hotel's garden pool, which gives you height without the remote feel of a tall sky bar. It's an easy add-on if you're already on the Bajondillo seafront, and one of nine rooftop bars in Torremolinos worth knowing.

The Vibe

White lounge sofas on a grassed rooftop terrace at Los Jazmines Torremolinos

Los Jazmines Lounge has that classic beachside-roof feel: soft lighting, wicker furniture, and a low grass-topped terrace open to the sky.

The crowd comes for drinks without pretense. No DJ booth, no thumping bass, just conversation and the clink of glasses over the hush of the sea.

It peaks at golden hour, when the west-facing terrace catches the sun dropping over the coast. Order a mojito, claim an edge sofa, and the phone stays in your pocket.

One honest caveat: it can feel quiet on an off night early in the season. If you want buzz, come Friday or Saturday after 9pm, or aim higher at the livelier Blueside Skybar.

Opening Hours

The rooftop opens in the evening for sunset drinks and runs until midnight. It's closed Monday and Tuesday, and hours shift with the season, so check with the hotel before a late visit.

  • Wednesday to Sunday: 20:00 - 00:00
  • Monday & Tuesday: Closed
  • Seasonal variations apply

The drinks list stays short and classic. Expect fruit-forward cocktails built on real purées rather than a long mixology menu.

Drinks:

  • Mojitos, piña coladas, and sangrías
  • "Natural cocktails" with fresh fruit purées
  • Beer and wine selection
  • Prices range from €4 to €6

That €4 to €6 band is genuinely cheap for a rooftop with this view, which is part of why I keep recommending it as a sundowner stop over a special-occasion one.

Food:

  • Light bites only: olives, chips, and occasional Mediterranean-style snacks
  • A drinks-first destination rather than a dining spot, so eat before or after

The View & Seating

White bar counter and high stools with sea views at Los Jazmines Torremolinos

The terrace looks west over the Mediterranean, with the hotel's garden pool directly below and the Bajondillo seafront beyond. The pool is for guests, so if you want a swimmable roof, check our Torremolinos pool day passes instead. That west orientation is the whole point here: this is a sunset roof first and a view roof second.

Grab a spot along the terrace edge for the cleanest sightline. The seating is casual and built for lingering:

  • Low tables and woven chairs throughout
  • Open-air couches ideal for groups or couples
  • Shade umbrellas for early evening sun
  • A handful of stools at the bar counter

There's no indoor room up here, so a breezy night can cut the evening short. Bring a light layer outside high summer.

Do You Need to Book Los Jazmines Lounge?

No. The lounge doesn't take reservations, and tables run first-come, first-served. Arrive before sunset if you want an edge seat, especially on a summer weekend.

There's no entry fee and no minimum spend, so a quiet weeknight is an easy walk-in. For the prime sofas, target the hour before golden hour, when the terrace edge fills first.

If you'd rather lock in a table, the Clocktower Rooftop nearby is a better bet for a planned evening.

Morning at Pimentel Tower

This 15th-century watchtower is the symbol of Torremolinos and the origin of its name. The surrounding plaza comes alive in the morning with locals enjoying café con leche.

Visit early before the crowds and climb up for views of the coastline stretching to Málaga. The nearby Cuesta del Tajo steps lead down to the beach.

Where to Stay

Hotel MS Tropicana - Central location near the tower with rooftop pool views. Perfect base for exploring the old town.

Dress Code

The vibe is decidedly casual, fitting for a beachside location.

What works:

  • Beach-casual wear
  • Relaxed evening attire
  • Sundresses, linen shirts, sandals

What doesn't work:

  • Uncovered swimwear (cover-ups required)

Access & Getting There

Los Jazmines Lounge sits on the top floor of Hotel Los Jazmines at Calle México 3, on the Bajondillo side of Torremolinos. Enter through the hotel's main entrance and take the lift to the roof.

You're a short walk from Playa del Bajondillo and the seafront promenade. Street parking sits nearby, and the Torremolinos Renfe station is a five-minute taxi or a 15-minute walk downhill.

Heading into the city next? Pair the trip with a roof from our best rooftop bars in Málaga guide, a 30-minute train ride up the coast.

Our Verdict

Los Jazmines Lounge delivers exactly what a classic beachside rooftop should: unpretentious drinks, genuine hospitality, and golden-hour views without the attitude. Nothing flashy, just reliably good cocktails and sunset charm.

Best for: Visitors wanting a low-key sundowner spot near the beach without needing a hotel reservation.

Skip if: You're after craft cocktails, a full dinner menu, or late-night party energy.

Whether you're staying at the hotel or wandering over from the boardwalk, this is a great spot to close out a beach day with something cold in hand. For a higher, busier roof a few minutes away, weigh it against Barracuda Rooftop Bar.
