The best rooftop bars in Marbella, from Puerto Banus cocktails to Old Town sunset terraces. With dress codes, prices, and honest reviews from a local.
Marbella has more rooftop bars than any other town on the Costa del Sol. I've spent the past year working through them all, from the marina terraces of Puerto Banus to the intimate Old Town spots most visitors walk right past.
The range is wide. You'll find adults-only sunset lounges, Michelin-connected dining terraces, and full-throttle nightclub rooftops, sometimes within a ten-minute walk of each other. These are the 11 best rooftop bars in Marbella, ranked by the ones I keep going back to.
Do you need to book rooftop bars in Marbella?
For the bar terrace, most places in Marbella operate on a walk-in basis. You can usually grab a drink without a reservation, especially on weeknights or if you arrive before sunset.
Restaurant tables are a different story. During summer weekends, every rooftop with a dinner service fills up, and the best sunset-facing tables go first. I'd book at Edge at El Fuerte, 360 Blue Sky Bar, and Cielo at least a day ahead from June through September.
Pangea is the exception. It runs like a nightclub, and table reservations often come with minimum-spend requirements.
What should you wear to a rooftop bar in Marbella?
Smart casual works at every rooftop on this list. That means closed shoes or clean sandals, well-fitted trousers or a summer dress, and no beachwear after sunset. Flip-flops, vest tops, and football shirts won't fly at the upscale spots.
A few places push the dress code higher. Pangea expects club-ready outfits, and the Martini Bar by Dolce & Gabbana attracts a fashion-forward crowd where designer fits are standard. At the other end, Sky Bar at La Fonda and Belvue are more relaxed, though you'll still want to look put-together.
