Marbella faces west. That matters at sunset. These are the rooftop bars where the light hits the Mediterranean and you actually want to be there when it does.
Marbella faces west over the Mediterranean. In summer, that sun doesn't drop until gone 9:30pm. You have time, but you need the right terrace.
These seven rooftop bars for sunset in Marbella face the right direction, open early enough to get a seat, and earn the price of a cocktail when the sky turns orange.
Benabola Sky Lounge

Benabola Sky Lounge is the one to be at in Puerto Banús when the sun goes down. The terrace sits above the marina, yachts below, open Mediterranean horizon straight ahead, Sierra Blanca turning pink behind you.
It opens at 5pm, which gives you time to get a good seat before the crowd arrives. Get there by 7pm in summer.
The vibe is upscale without being uptight. Good cocktail menu, attentive service, and a crowd that's here for the view rather than the noise.
Hours: Daily 5pm–1am
Best for: The definitive Marbella sunset. If you're in Puerto Banús, this is the one.
360 Blue Sky Bar

360 Blue Sky Bar earns its name. The views genuinely go all the way around, sea to the south, old town to the north, Sierra Blanca behind, and the coastline stretching east toward Málaga.
It opens at 11am, earlier than any other rooftop on this list, which means you can arrive in the afternoon and stay through golden hour without rushing. On Avenida Ramón y Cajal in central Marbella, it's walkable from most hotels in town.
Cocktails are well made. The crowd is a mix of tourists and locals who know what they're doing.
Hours: Mon–Thu & Sun 11am–11pm | Fri–Sat 11am–midnight
Best for: Anyone who wants the full panorama without committing to a specific area of Marbella.
Belvue Rooftop

Belvue Rooftop gives you the combination that makes Marbella sunsets different from anywhere else on the coast: sea in front, Sierra Blanca mountains behind. When the light drops, both turn golden at the same time.
It's on Avenida Severo Ochoa, which runs parallel to the beach. Opens at 5pm. The terrace is comfortable, the service is solid, and it doesn't get as hectic as the Puerto Banús spots.
Hours: Daily 5pm–1am
Best for: The best of both views, sea and mountains in the same frame.
Air by Breathe

Air by Breathe is the Puerto Banús sunset for people who want the night to keep going. The terrace looks west over the marina toward the mountains, and the light fades while the sushi comes out and the DJ warms up.
It opens at 7pm, so in high summer you still catch the last of the sun before the crowd builds. Champagne service, a smart resort crowd, energy that climbs as the sky darkens.
Hours: Daily 7pm–2am
Best for: Pairing golden hour with a full night out near Puerto Banús.
Cielo by Florentine

Cielo by Florentine is the Golden Mile's sunset spot, on top of the Forum building between the Marbella Club and Puente Romano. You look straight at La Concha as it turns pink, with a Negroni from the 360° cocktail bar in hand.
It opens at 6pm. The setting is elegant but relaxed, the crowd adult and international, and the kitchen runs Italian-Mediterranean plates well past dark.
Hours: Daily 6pm–2am
Best for: Mountain-facing sunsets on the Golden Mile, away from the marina crowds.
Edge at El Fuerte

Edge at El Fuerte is the rooftop for old Marbella. It sits above the El Fuerte hotel on the edge of the old town, with an unobstructed line of sight to the Mediterranean. No marina clutter, no buildings in the way. Just sea.
Opens at 7pm, so this is an evening-only stop. Plan to arrive close to opening if sunset is early, or later in the evening in high summer when the sun holds until nearly 10pm.
Hours: Daily 7pm–1am
Best for: Clean sea views from the old town. The most classic Marbella setting on this list.
Sky Bar at La Fonda

Sky Bar at La Fonda is a different kind of sunset. The terrace is tucked into the old town on Plaza Santo Cristo, surrounded by white-washed rooftops and framed by the Sierra Blanca. It's not about the sea horizon here, it's about the light on the mountains and the old town turning warm as the sun drops.
Opens at 5:30pm. Intimate, characterful, quieter than the seafront bars.
Hours: Daily 5:30pm–1am
Best for: Couples and anyone who prefers a rooftop with personality over a seafront terrace with a view.
When to Arrive
Marbella sunset times shift significantly through the year. Arrive at least 45 minutes before sunset to get a decent seat, as most of these terraces fill up fast in the last hour of daylight.
Approximate sunset times in Marbella:
- April: 8:30pm
- May–June: 9:15–9:30pm
- July–August: 9:30pm
- September: 8:30–9pm
- October: 7:30–8pm
Get there early
In summer, sunset is around 9:30pm but the terraces fill up from 7:30pm. Arrive at 7pm for Benabola and 360 Blue Sky, earlier if you want the best seats. Edge at El Fuerte opens at 7pm so go straight there when it opens.
Puerto Banús at sunset
Walk the marina at golden hour before heading up to Benabola. The yachts, the light on the water, and the mountains behind make it one of the best evening walks on the Costa del Sol.
“The marina is free to walk. Combine it with sunset drinks at Benabola Sky Lounge directly above.”
Benabola Hotel & Suites - Literally in the marina. Walk out the door at golden hour and you're already there.
