The Belvue Rooftop Bar in Marbella

360° panoramas, handcrafted cocktails by Diego Cabrera, and live DJs with Mediterranean sunset views.

Belvue Rooftop Bar occupies the 9th floor of the Amàre Beach Hotel, one of Marbella's most sought-after sunset destinations.

The name says it all: "beautiful view," and it delivers on that promise with 360-degree panoramas that stretch from the Mediterranean to the Sierra Blanca mountains.

Open to both hotel guests and the public, Belvue has become the place where Marbella dresses up for the evening.

What sets it apart is the cocktail program, crafted under the creative direction of Diego Cabrera, one of Spain's most celebrated mixologists.

Best For

  • Sunset lovers and Instagram hunters
  • Couples seeking a chic pre-dinner spot
  • Cocktail aficionados
  • Stylish groups kicking off a Marbella night out

Not Ideal For

  • Families with children
  • Budget travellers (cocktails are premium-priced)
  • Those seeking a quiet, no-music vibe

The Vibe

Belvue is where Marbella comes to watch the sunset.

The crowd is a mix of stylish locals and hotel guests who time their visit to coincide with the golden hour. There's an unspoken understanding that this is where you start the evening, not necessarily where you end it.

DJs ease into the evening with lounge and deep house, the music building gradually as the sky fades from blue to orange to purple. The terrace itself is modern yet intimate, with sleek white seating, soft lighting, and a horizon that never seems to end.

The atmosphere strikes a balance between glamorous and relaxed.

People dress up, but there's no pretension.

Opening Hours

  • Sunday: 17:00 - 01:00

Menu & Prices

Drinks

The drinks menu is the headline here. Cocktails are playful yet precise, featuring Mediterranean botanicals, premium gins, and champagne flowing freely on weekends.

  • Signature cocktails: €14-€18
  • Premium gin & tonics: €12-€16
  • Champagne by the glass: €15-€20
  • Champagne by the bottle: €80-€250+

Food

A curated menu of bites pairs well with the cocktails:

  • Shrimp Tiradito with green apple and tiger's milk
  • Matured Salmon Bilbaína Style with potato cream
  • Crispy King Prawns with curry sauce and bittersweet cucumber
  • Iberian Ham board
  • Pinsa Mozzarella or BBQ Ribs Pinsa

Portions are designed for sharing while drinking, rather than a full dinner experience.

The View & Seating

Belvue lives up to its name. From its wraparound terrace, you get genuine 360° panoramas:

  • Marbella's old town rooftops spreading inland
  • The curve of the Costa del Sol coastline
  • Sierra Blanca's rugged mountain backdrop
  • On clear days, Morocco shimmering on the horizon

Seating options include:

  • Low lounge sofas for groups
  • High-top tables along the glass railings (the best perch for sunset photos)
  • Intimate two-tops for couples
  • Standing areas near the bar

The tables at the terrace edge are the most coveted, offering unobstructed sunset views. Arrive early to claim one.

How to Make a Reservation

Reservations are recommended for sunset hours and weekends, especially during summer when the terrace fills quickly.

You can book through the hotel website or by calling directly.

Walk-ins are possible on quieter weeknights, but showing up without a reservation on a Saturday evening in July means you'll likely wait.

Golden Hour at Puerto Banús

The glamorous marina comes alive at sunset when superyachts glitter and the waterfront restaurants fill up. This is where Marbella's famous luxury lifestyle is on full display.

Walk the harbour around 7pm when the yachts are lit up but the crowds haven't peaked. The western end is quieter and offers better sunset views.

Where to Stay

H10 Andalucía Plaza - Walking distance to Puerto Banús with its own rooftop bar. Get the sunset twice - at the port and from your hotel.

Dress Code

What works:

  • Smart casual attire
  • Chic resort wear
  • Stylish evening outfits
  • Sundresses and linen for summer evenings

What doesn't work:

  • Sports jerseys or beachwear

The crowd takes the setting seriously. Dressing up is part of the experience.

Our Verdict

I've been to many rooftop bars along the Costa del Sol, and Belvue sits high on my list.

The combination of its 360-degree horizon, the refined cocktails crafted by one of Spain's best mixologists, and the golden glow at sunset makes it feel special every time.

Best for: Sunset chasers, cocktail lovers, and anyone who wants to start their evening somewhere beautiful. This is the rooftop you plan your evening around.

Skip if: You're on a tight budget or looking for a quiet, music-free experience. The cocktails are premium-priced, and DJs are part of the atmosphere.

It's glamorous without being over the top, refined without being stuffy. Arrive at golden hour, order something crafted, and watch Marbella light up below.
